In these days the Spirit is leading the people of nonviolence into the Libyan desert to be tested. The tempter comes to them saying, “If you are people of compassion, support the freedom fighters in Libya with your bombs to avoid a humanitarian disaster.” The people of nonviolence are answering, “It has been truly said, ‘Violence begets more violence.”
Then the tempter is saying, “Did not your prophet the Mahatma Gandhi advocate violence in the face of a madman?” And the people of nonviolence are replying, “You shall not take the words of your prophets out of context.”
Then the tempter is showing them all the revolutionary winds blowing in the area saying, “if you play your intervention cards right, you will see democracies rising all over the globe.” And the people of peace answer, “Violence is not the way to democracy.”
